Case Study: EXPHYS’ Online Transformation with COG Marketing

EXPHYS is a national provider of exercise physiology, health, and wellbeing programs, specialising in award-winning, research-backed BETTER Programs for pain, mental health, fatigue, and cancer. Serving the life insurance, workers’ compensation, and motor accident industries across Australia, EXPHYS partners with some of the country’s largest insurers and employers to optimise the health and wellbeing of Australians.

Trusted since 2005, EXPHYS delivers exceptional service, programs, and partnerships. Their commitment to care, innovation, and continuous improvement positions them at the forefront of health and wellbeing programs, leveraging technology and data to deliver measurable outcomes for clients and patients.

As EXPHYS continued to grow, the organisation recognised the need for a modern digital presence that accurately reflected its expertise, programs, and professional brand. That’s where COG Marketing stepped in, providing the strategy and solutions to transform their online presence.

The Challenge

Before partnering with COG Marketing, EXPHYS faced several challenges with its digital presence:

  • The website did not fully highlight the breadth of services, programs, or client outcomes, making it harder for potential partners and patients to understand the company’s capabilities.

  • The online brand identity did not fully communicate EXPHYS’s expertise, innovation, and trusted partnerships across the health and insurance sectors.

  • Digital marketing efforts were limited, resulting in lower visibility, fewer enquiries, and reduced engagement with prospective clients.

  • Website hosting and email management were handled internally, creating inefficiencies and technical challenges.

EXPHYS needed an integrated solution to modernise its website, reinforce brand authority, and clearly communicate its BETTER Programs and expertise.

The Solution: COG Marketing’s All-In-One Services

EXPHYS partnered with COG Marketing for a complete digital transformation. Acting as their key marketing and business development partner, COG Marketing managed every aspect of their online and brand strategy, including:

Website Design and Development

COG Marketing developed a modern, user-friendly website that clearly showcased EXPHYS’s full suite of services and programs. The website highlights BETTER Programs for pain, mental health, fatigue, and cancer, as well as partnerships with insurers and employers. Case studies and program outcomes are presented in an accessible, engaging way for patients, clients, and stakeholders.

The site is mobile-responsive, fast-loading, and designed to make it easy for visitors to navigate information and connect with EXPHYS’s services.

Branding and Graphic Design

COG Marketing refined EXPHYS’s visual identity to create a cohesive, professional brand across all digital channels. Colours, typography, and graphics were aligned to reflect their innovative approach, trusted expertise, and commitment to health optimisation. The refreshed branding strengthened credibility and ensured consistency across every digital touchpoint.

Digital Marketing Strategy

EXPHYS’s online presence was enhanced through a targeted digital marketing strategy. SEO campaigns improved visibility for key search terms such as “exercise physiology programs,” “workplace health programs,” and “BETTER programs Australia.”

Social media content showcased program outcomes, client success stories, and health insights, while email campaigns nurtured relationships with insurers, employers, and patients, keeping them informed about services and innovations.

Business Strategy

COG Marketing worked closely with EXPHYS to align digital marketing efforts with business objectives. This included competitor analysis, customer profiling, and long-term planning to position EXPHYS as the leading provider of exercise physiology and wellbeing programs across Australia.

Website and Email Hosting

COG Marketing provided secure, high-performance website and email hosting solutions, ensuring EXPHYS’s digital platforms were reliable, fast, and easy to manage. This allowed the team to focus on delivering exceptional programs and services without technical distractions.

Printing and Promotional Products

COG Marketing extended EXPHYS’s professional brand offline by producing high-quality printing and promotional materials, including brochures, flyers, and program documentation. These reinforced the organisation’s identity, complemented the digital presence, and left a strong impression on clients, partners, and patients.

Results and Future Plans

Since partnering with COG Marketing, EXPHYS has experienced measurable improvements in online visibility, client engagement, and brand credibility. Their refreshed digital presence clearly communicates their expertise, innovative BETTER Programs, and trusted partnerships, helping attract new clients and strengthen relationships with existing partners.

EXPHYS was proud to present accepted research at the Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA) Activate Conference 2026 , held at the Adelaide Convention Centre . Our submission, Telehealth Exercise Physiology Restores Function and Work Capacity for a Regionally Based Nurse: A Cost Effective Insurance Solution , demonstrates that telehealth outcomes are comparable to face to face delivery, offering a practical, lower cost model that improves access for remote Australians and delivers sustainable, high value outcomes for personal injury and illness insurers. Congratulations to Ms Adriana Giles , Dr Vicky Phillips , Ms Charlotte Cummins and Mr Chris Sinclair for their contribution to this work. The research was presented on behalf of EXPHYS by Mr Keegan Jones . The abstract associated with this poster will be published in the upcoming Journal of Clinical Exercise Physiology (JCEP).
