This program focuses on restoring mental function under the expert guidance of a mental health exercise physiologist. Establish long term exercise habits through a trusted buddy, community support, and technology.
SUITABILITY
Suitable for all types of mental health conditions, including but not limited to: anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), burnout, social anxiety and phobia, bipolar, and schizophrenia.
HOW IT WORKS
THE FIRST SESSION
- Your mental health exercise physiologist gains an understanding of your recovery goals to develop your program.
THE PROGRAM
- Exercise with the support of your exercise physiologist, and a trusted exercise buddy such as a friend, family or animal.
- Explore and commence using community exercise resources such as exercise groups or facilities.
- Wear optional technology for motivational alerts and activity tracking.
EMPOWERMENT
- You are empowered to complete your exercise program independently.
- You will establish long term exercise habits for the benefit of your mental wellbeing.
- We can collaborate with other members of your support and healthcare team.
DURATION & DELIVERY
Flexible and convenient delivery methods.
The program is three months in duration, with instances where it may be shorter or longer, and generally will involve weekly or fortnightly appointments.
The program is delivered face-to-face or via telehealth. We come to you for face-to-face sessions at a location that is convenient and comfortable for you. This could be at home, outdoors, in a park, gymnasium, or pool.
