EXPHYS’ Virtual Reality Program is delivered nationally using convenient and comfortable environments, such as a client’s home. Mick, Pain Coach is taking his client through a virtual reality pain science educational module. Mick loves seeing his clients immersed in the virtual reality, which harnesses many different learning methods and accelerates positive change. Mick’s client now makes more sense of her pain. This empowers her to retrain her pain system to be less protective, increase her function to move forward with life and work.

Green exercise. The convenience and flexibility of EXPHYS’ national mobile delivery is that any client can be accommodated anywhere, to achieve the best possible outcomes. Mick identifying with his mental health client, that reconnecting with the outdoors through exercise is what drives this client. Mick is now connecting this client with a community bushwalking group with fellow nature exercise enthusiasts. The client is also progressing into voluntary bush regeneration work, with EXPHYS collaborating with an occupational therapist.

We look forward to our regular team collaborations. It’s exciting to connect and learn from one another through our experience, skills and knowledge. We use these forums to celebrate achievement, innovate and learn from external experts. Today is a fun workshop in a virtual lecture room!

Our leaders also meet to focus on serving the needs of our customers, partners and clients.

Out on the road to meet with a psychologist and a mental health client, at the psychologist’s rooms. Having the flexibility to meet with the psychologist and client in this safe environment helps convert this referral. At this appointment we discussed current open goals, and the next steps which involve the EXPHYS Mental Wellbeing Program.

EXPHYS has delivered telehealth programs to over 3500 clients throughout Australia and the world. Pain Science is perfect to be coached through telehealth with our experienced and skilled Pain Coaches and supplementary resource. Our clients tell us that telehealth is so convenient and accessible, which maximises engagement and achieves positive change for life and work.

Spending valuable time in the gymnasium leading a firefighting client though their recovery following prostate cancer surgery. This is highly rewarding. EXPHYS is honoured to play a significant role to fire and rescue personnel, who dedicate so much to protecting the community.

EXPHYS was proud to present accepted research at the Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA) Activate Conference 2026 , held at the Adelaide Convention Centre . Our submission, Telehealth Exercise Physiology Restores Function and Work Capacity for a Regionally Based Nurse: A Cost Effective Insurance Solution , demonstrates that telehealth outcomes are comparable to face to face delivery, offering a practical, lower cost model that improves access for remote Australians and delivers sustainable, high value outcomes for personal injury and illness insurers. Congratulations to Ms Adriana Giles , Dr Vicky Phillips , Ms Charlotte Cummins and Mr Chris Sinclair for their contribution to this work. The research was presented on behalf of EXPHYS by Mr Keegan Jones . The abstract associated with this poster will be published in the upcoming Journal of Clinical Exercise Physiology (JCEP).

We’re grateful to ALUCA for recognising this work and proud of the teams at EXPHYS and TAL, whose contribution and support were integral to its development and implementation. The program reflects a continued commitment to delivering evidence‑based solutions that achieve health for life and work.
