2026 National Pain Week This National Pain Week, we are recognising the role pain science education, exercise physiology and professional support can play in helping people living with chronic pain. Coordinated annually by Chronic Pain Australia, the week aims to raise awareness of the 3.6 million Australians living with chronic pain and reduce the stigma surrounding the condition. Pain science uses current scientific evidence to understand pain, why it can persist and what supports recovery. The EXPHYS BETTER Pain Program combines evidence-based pain science, functional upgrading and exercise physiology to support meaningful recovery for people living with chronic pain. Evidence-Based Partnership Model The award winning EXPHYS BETTER Pain and Function program was recognised through the 2026 ALUCA Life Insurance Excellence Awards for demonstrating how evidence-based care, innovation and partnership can deliver measurable outcomes for people living with persistent pain. The integrated recovery pathway combines pain science with functional upgrading to improve function, confidence and return to life and work. This was tailored to support the customers of our life insurance partner. Demonstrating measurable outcomes through strong data and evaluation, the program creates sustainable value for customers and the life insurance industry. This reflects what can be achieved through evidence-based partnerships and a shared commitment to improving health for life and work. 

Supporting a client to manage chronic pain and maintain work capacity through the EXPHYS BETTER Pain and Function Program. Following ongoing lower back pain, fibromyalgia and fatigue, the client worked with EXPHYS consultant Charlotte Cummins to improve function and build confidence in managing persistent pain. This approach focused on pain science education and sustainable exercise strategies tailored to her needs. EXPHYS team members supported Australian Red Cross Lifeblood during National Blood Donor Week, helping save 21 lives through blood and plasma donations.

A letter from our founder Acknowledging the people, partnerships and shared purpose that have shaped EXPHYS over the past 21 years. To everyone who has been part of the EXPHYS journey, This month marks a milestone I find both humbling and rewarding. Twenty-one years ago, EXPHYS was founded with a clear purpose, to enhance the life and work performance of Australians through optimal health. Looking back on that journey and the impact we've made is something I'm incredibly proud of. Established in Sydney in 2005, EXPHYS was built on the belief that workplace and insurance healthcare should be proactive, empowering and focused on function. We challenged traditional approaches by adopting an active, evidence-based model designed to improve outcomes for individuals, businesses and the broader industry. This philosophy continues to guide us today. From those early beginnings, EXPHYS has grown into a national provider of health, wellbeing, exercise physiology and return-to-work programs, while remaining proudly Australian owned. We partner with life insurance, workers compensation and motor accident insurers, national and multinational employers, superannuation funds, global reinsurers, government departments, brokers and private health insurers. Most importantly, we remain passionate about optimising the health of Australians through exceptional service, products and partnerships. Over the past several years, our commitment to measurable outcomes, innovation and evidence-based practice has been recognised through winning industry awards, finalist achievements, research contributions and national media recognition. From pioneering exercise oncology, mental health and pain coaching programs, to integrating wearable technology, digital health solutions and virtual reality, we have continually evolved to deliver better outcomes for the people we support. Recently, members of the EXPHYS team came together to support our annual team charity event for Australian Red Cross LifeBlood. Every day, we work alongside people on their recovery journeys. Donating blood is one small way we can extend that support further across Australia and into the community. We're incredibly proud of our team for getting involved and helping raise awareness for the thousands of Australians who rely on blood and plasma donations every day. A huge thank you to everyone who donated, shared our campaign, or encouraged others to get involved. Together, we can make a meaningful difference.

🩸 National Blood Donor Week Last week, our EXPHYS team came together to donate blood throughout the week as part of our annual team charity event in support of Australian Red Cross Lifeblood. We are donating with Lifeblood to honour people living with cancer, demonstrating our DNA Value of CARE , and helping people stay engaged in life, work & what matters most. Blood and plasma donations play a vital role in saving lives, providing essential support for Australians undergoing cancer treatment, recovering from trauma, and managing serious health conditions. A few facts that remind us why every donation matters: ❤️ 1 in 3 Australians will need blood or blood products in their lifetime. 🩸 A blood donation is needed every 18 seconds. 💛 It can take up to 13 plasma donations to create a single vial of some plasma medicines. * Australian Red Cross Lifeblood (2026) .
